The Best Memories

We did it. We went to Disney for the tenth time. And what a trip!

It was a little crazy, to say the least. We had health complications (Isabelle's heat rash, my swollen feet, my allergic reaction to the sheets, the flu I caught on the last day), some diet issues (dad could only eat this and mom could only eat that), and some wild incidents (our plane ride there and back, and a newt got into our room), but even through all of that, we had a great time!

Here are the top ten memories we had at Disney!

10. I finally got my turkey leg
I have been dying to have a turkey leg for years now, and I finally got one! First off, they are insanely hot so be prepared for that. Secondly, they are juicy as heck, so get a lot of napkins. Third, buy one on an empty stomach cause they will fill you! Oh, but it was soooo good!

9. I have officially ridden all the rides at the Magic Kingdom
The last two rides I checked off my list this time around were the Enchanted Tiki Room and the Tomorrowland Speedway. And I just have to say, I must have known ahead of time how bad these experiences were because the Enchanted Tiki Room is a bunch of animatronic birds sitting around singing in different accents and the Tomorrowland Speedway is a little motor car that is rigged to make you swerve and hit the tracks every second of the ride. Nightmares. Those are what nightmares are made of.

8. Isabelle rode a roller-coaster!
On May 28th, Disney World opened their latest ride, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Ride! It is so fun! What makes it so great is that it is the smoothest roller-coaster ever! There are no flips, but there are plenty of turns. They are everywhere. But good news! I didn't get whiplash! It was so fun! And you get a beautiful view of new fantasy land!

7. Lunch with Winnie the Pooh and friends
It's always a delight to go to the Crystal Palace and dine-in with Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore!

6. Dinner with the Princesses
This is a new family tradition to eat at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Norway at the Epcot Center! It's a blast! Every time you go, you get a different set of princesses than you do last time!

5. Ice cream and funnel cake
One thing my family won't deny is that we all have a sweet tooth. And it dictates us at Disney World! And two of our things to indulge in is ice cream and funnel cakes.

4. Fireworks in the back
Our family discovered our favorite spot to watch the fireworks - and it's at the Magic Kingdom behind the castle. It is the perfect spot! There is no crowd bustle, people aren't shoving or throwing their kids on their shoulders, you can admire the fireworks more fully (they are a million times bigger back there), and it's a lot more interactive! (You have to flip back and forth between in front of the castle and behind the castle) It is just a lot more fun overall.

3. Celebrated my 20th birthday!
The day started out a little crazy and ended a little wild, but it was still a great birthday to say the least! But my favorite thing about my birthday (that didn't actually happen on my birthday) was when Bobby Hicks, my favorite model, tweeted me and wished me a happy birthday! Stellar!

2. Met Anna and Elsa
Now this was a HUGE win on our part! Typically, the wait line for Anna and Elsa is between 2 to 4 hours long. When Isabelle and I saw that the line was 110 minutes, we hopped in line that moment. It took the parents some convincing to give up our extra magic hours for that meet and greet, but it was worth it. The wait time projected out front was wrong! We were in line for only thirty minutes and we got to meet Anna and Elsa themselves! Isabelle and I were shell-shocked! Flabbergasted! Starstruck! It was Anna and Elsa! The Disney embodiment of Isabelle and I as people and as sisters! It was so, so, so cool! I loved it!

1. Swam with Dolphins
Meeting Anna and Elsa was cool, celebrating my twentieth was awesome, the fireworks, the food, the meet and greets, and the rides never let you down, but the number one most memorable event that occurred on this trip was when we swam with dolphins. When I saw that Disney allowed you to go backstage at the aquarium at Epcot, I begged dad for weeks to let me go, and to my surprise, he didn't just sign me up, he got the whole family on board! And it was AWESOME! We learned so much about the way dolphins are, their environments,  Disney's part in conservation and research - just so much! And it was all captivating! But the best, best part was just hanging out with the dolphins. We got to pet, talk to, take pictures with, and watch tricks performed by Khyber and Malabar. Khyber is this 530 pound, 22 year old dolphin and he is beautiful! Malabar is 500 pounds and is 13 going on 14. He will actually be turning 14 the same day as Isabelle! How crazy is that! It was so funny, when Malabar was swimming up to Isabelle to take his picture with her, he was eckkeckkeckking at her and clicking and just chatting away! And before then, he was eyeballing her from afar, as if he knew they shared the same birthday! Cute, huh? It was an incredible experience in and of itself! I would have to say this was the cherry on top of my Disney experience!

Great moments that didn't make the top ten:
- When I met Gaston and we fell madly in love

- Enchanted Tale with Belles - it was beyond adorable!

- We got matching t-shirts and a picture of us wearing them in front of the castle

And here is our usual picture of us on the Prince Charming Carousel
