I bet you're so interested in what I'm taking while I'm in Greece. Oh? You are? Cool! Let me tell you about my classes!
In archeology of Athens, I'm basically going to be walking around the city listening to my professor go, "this building is history and this is why!" A part of me is worried that I will not be able to wake up at 8:45am on my most hated day of the week, that being Tuesday, but then again I'm in Greece! And I'm going to be studying history! In Greece! Once it's in perspective I'm not worried. Haha I know for sure now that I'm studying the right major especially if I'm willing to wake up this early, and maybe even earlier, just for the sake of learning!
As for Greek sculpture, I run over to the museum after an hour and a half of walking and walk for another hour and a half listening to my other professor say, "this statue is history AND art and this is why!"
Advanced Latin is self explanatory. I'm going to be translating. I also read that this professor is pretty intimidating. I'm nervous especially since Latin is one of my weakest subject in the whole field of Classics, but maybe this professor's teaching style will inspire me to prove him that I am intelligent enough to translate a few lines into tangible sentences. I'll be sure to keep you posted.
Now, you know how I said Latin is one of my weakest subjects? Philosophy is the other, and ha. ha. Guess what else I'm taking? Yeah. Greek Philosophy. But this is the best option. My fourth class was a tie between philosophy and modern Greek. But, I opted for philosophy since it will complete my major. No lie, I am a little excited to learn and discuss philosophy in Athens, Greece! Maybe Socrates will speak to me in my dreams!
If any of you want more details about the classes I'm taking, you can go to CYA's courses by semester
Oh, and for all you guys who are thinking, "If you're in Greece, shouldn't you be taking modern/ancient Greek?" I am just going to say, if I took Greek, I would be digging my own grave. Holla, it's hard!
9 days away!!!
